PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lead Valet
DEPARTMENT: Parking
REPORTS TO: Valet Captain
Summary
At The Dewberry, our primary focus is to become a part of our guests’ fondest memories no matter their reason for visiting. The Lead Valet will contribute to this by being the first impression for guests and ensuring that all luxury standards and protocols are adhered to. The Lead Valet with assist with overseeing day to day operations, training the team, and delegating tasks in order to run a smooth operation.
Key Job Duties:
- Coordinate and execute all valet related tasks and duties
- Assist in planning and preparing all Volvo House Car rides, including airport transfers
- Manage log book and enforce proper procedures are followed
- Ensure all rides are posted and charged in the PMS system and Alice Tickets are closed
- Maintain all vehicles; Volvo House Cars in particular (fuel levels, tracking and logging rides, scheduling details, etc.)
- Oversee gas receipt log
- Act a liaison between Parking Department and other departments in the hotel
- Attend weekly Resume Meeting
- Create Event Sheets
- Ensure all events are charged to the correct Master Account
- Assist in training new teammates and auditing current employees
- Oversee 2 week training plan as well as 30/60/90 check ins
- Assist in scheduling, inventory, and ordering
- Cover Valet Captain's off-days and provide excellent communications
- Assist with bellman duties when needed
- Monitor Alice for all tickets and ensure team is following proper procedures
- Lead by example and hold self and team to the highest level excellence
Qualifications:
- 1 year of hospitality experience preferred in a luxury hotel
- Ability to learn and utilize various hotel operating systems
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and always follow-up.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with guests in a 5 star manner
- Must have exceptional customer service, communication, and time management skills.
- Clear driving record
- Ability to lift luggage, boxes, and packages up to 100lbs
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to delegate work to a team to achieve a common goal
- Demonstrate professionalism and patience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $40.00 per hour
