The Retail Parts Specialist is responsible for selling parts to all retail guests over the counter, through the Internet and on the phone.
This is a full-time position with a very robust commission pay plan. Our Retail Parts Specialists get to work with an amazing team and by working for Lexus, they are surrounded by only the best.

The Retail Parts Specialist has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $28.00 and $32.00.

  • This position is 100% on site at Lexus of Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist technicians/ASM in determining replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, guests’ requests, or guest descriptions of malfunctions.
  • Accurately prices parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and transfers the information to the proper document and computer system.
  • Answers phone calls, internet requests and provides part and price information as requested.
  • Requests special order parts solicited by guest/technician/ASM/Estimator and notifies when they have arrived.
  • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
  • Achieves monthly sales and forecasted goals.
  • Maintains records of all repairs orders, invoice, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Keeps counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Assist in all other areas of the parts department, as needed.
  • Performs other specific administrative functions as directed by management.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of automotive parts experience, preferably in an automotive dealership.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts; and mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages) and application.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail; follow-up with internal and external guests; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and comprehends instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, Internet and in person; and use standard office equipment.

  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
  • Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
