Job description
VieMed is looking for Licensed Master Social Workers (LCSW or LMSW) for the Baton Rouge area!!
Must be available part time to rotate working weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) for one or more of the following shifts:
  • 7a-3p
  • 3p-11p
  • 11p-7a
$75/hr with mileage reimbursed for any call outs
Requirements:
  • LCSW / LMSW who can be trained to conduct abuse/neglect investigations, and provide support to families during safety plan disruptions, and placement disruptions in foster care. It might include driving, transporting, and supervising children. Conducting safety assessments, documentation, and collaborations with DCFS personnel, and community partners (LE, CAC, Medical experts). Includes any duties specified in the Child Welfare Trainee or Specialist job descriptions.
  • The ability to work overtime to address case crisis’ and any legal requirements that extend beyond the designated shift.
  • In accordance with state laws, selected candidates must pass the following checks before any final job offer will be made: Drug Test, Criminal Background, State Central Registry, and Louisiana State Police Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Education

Required - Master's degree in social work (MSW).

Work Experience

Required - 5 years of related experience.

Preferred - Experience in a medical social work field.

Certifications

Required - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as verified by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners (LABSWE) and able to engage in independent practice.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Good knowledge of common disease entities and disorders and medical terminology in order to understand acute and ongoing needs of patients and families.

  • Excellent psychotherapeutic skills.

  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively and courteously with patients, families, multi-disciplinary team members, departmental peers and community agency personnel.

  • Advanced knowledge of an acute and chronic care medical setting, medical terminology and the psychosocial and economic effects of illness and/or trauma upon the patient and their support system.

  • Advanced knowledge of managed care and public programs such as those funded by Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans.

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

Job Duties

  • Interviews and assesses patients and assists throughout patient care plan.

  • Identifies and provides helpful resources to patients and families.

  • Maintains patient records and documents and communicates critical information to the medical team.

  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
