IMA Automation North America designs and builds turn-key assembly solutions for the medical device automotive and other selected industries. Our engineered solutions support our customers’ assembly and test projects at every stage in the product development life cycle. From concept to prototyping, low to high volume production, we have the comprehensive experience and know-how to help achieve production goals. We currently have an opening for a Machine Electrician.

A Machine Electrician is responsible for building and wiring mechanical assemblies, robotic work cells, pneumatic hardware and other electrical components to build custom automation machinery from engineering approved schematics.

Qualifications

• Certificate in electronics with at least 3 years of experience working as an apprentice electrician or machine maintenance electrician technician or equivalent combination of certification/experience is required.
• Must be able to read and interpret pneumatic schematics and understand color codes, cable amp ratings and circuit breakers.
• Requires a working knowledge of 24 V sensors, high voltage and pneumatics, 110v, 220v and 480v three phase, transformers, motors, servos and robots, and inspection/measuring tools such as multi-meters, dB meters, amp meters, etc.
• Must be familiar with computer programs such as Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
• Must work well in a team environment as well as independently.

Job Duties

• Assemble electrical components and sub-assemblies according to engineering approved drawings.
• Wire sub-panels to print
• Provide main power to machine and distribute to devices
• Terminate 24 V input devices to corresponding termination points
• Run pneumatic tubing in a neat and orderly manner
• Perform walk down and I/O check in accordance with power on procedure
• Assist Lead Electrician with troubleshooting and debug of electrical systems
• Participate in tear down and preparation for shipping of equipment
• Travel to customer sites as required for installation and reintegration of systems

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Electrician: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Certificate in Electronics (Preferred)
