Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and tools, as well as machine and building repairs. The Maintenance Mechanic is someone with mechanical experience, ideally with lumber equipment. We need someone who is a self-starter that will take pride in their work! Responsibilities:

• Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all equipment, machinery, tools and buildings, including molders, rip-saw, resaw and various other lumber equipment
• Repairs woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools and forklifts in accordance with operating manuals and manufacturer specifications
• Orders parts and supplies as needed and as approved by Operations Manager
• Keeps inventory of all tools and equipment
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance
• Maintains records of maintenance activities and repairs
• Maintains clean and organized work area
• If assigned to Treating Plant, performs duties consistent with hazardouswaste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
• Performs various other duties as neededQualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and control technology, and welding
• Knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
• Able to understand and use basic math and numbers, and to use a computerterminal and a calculator
• Demonstrate ability to follow specific instructions and directions
• Able to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and operating manuals
• Able to use precision measuring instruments or tools, and manual tools
• Possess mechanical aptitude
• Able to understand verbal and written instructions in English; ability readand write English
• Able to identify safety issues in their work area
• Work well under immediate supervision
• Able to pass a drug test
• Able to work hours assigned by management
• Understand and identify different types and sizes of lumber products
• Safety conscious

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
