New Pond Village an assisted living community is looking for a Maintenance Technician with weekend availability to work with the Director of Plant Operations. We are looking for an enthusiastic learner who loves to work with the senior population. A good candidate implements regular and preventive maintenance programs that promote a sense of well-being and aesthetic appeal for residents and staff, and communicates with the director of maintenance on the condition of buildings and equipment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance throughout the community.
• Must have good building maintenance experience preferred, a good candidate would have experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
• Participates as an on-call technician which may include working beyond office hours, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrates excellent trouble-shooting skills. Be able to think outside the box to figure out a solution on your own.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, families and everyone in the community.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATICATION

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Ideally 2-3 Years or more experience of facilities and/or building maintenance, mechanical/electrical/plumbing/HVAC installation, maintenance and/or repair. However will train enthusiastic learner!
• Loves to work with seniors.
• Excellent customer service skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physically able to move at least 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Physically able to bend, reach and work in small areas.
• Physically able to push and pull, equipment and furnishings.
• Physically able to stand and to work on hands and knees for long periods of time.
