Primary Job Description
Candidate will report to maintenance supervisor and be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all of the company’s capital equipment and facilities. There will be a strong mold set-up and cleaning role as part of this position.
Responsibilities
- Report to maintenance supervisor
- Determine mechanical condition of machinery and equipment during preventive maintenance checks
- Communicate deficiencies to maintenance supervisor
- Lubricate and service machinery as required
- Weld with gas, MIG and stick arc
- Perform electrical repairs, both single and three phase
- Operate maintenance equipment (lathe, power hacksaw, bandsaw, grinders, drill press, hand tools)
- Operate and service forklifts
- Complete all paperwork to verify correct procedures were followed
- Read and comprehend blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Demonstrate ability to read and perform calculations at a ninth grade level
- Determine job from work assignment
- Report time and materials used in completing a job
- Be able to work on a ladder and from scaffolding
- Observe all safety regulations (OSHA and Corry Rubber rules)
- Perform other work as assigned by supervisor
- Rare weekend work may be required
- Clean molds using grit blasting or dry ice
- Set up presses to produce parts meeting customer specifications
- Perform first piece setup procedures
- Vision - 20/20 with or without correction
- Have a valid driver's license
Suggested Background
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two-year (2) degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred
- Three (3) years working in a heavy industrial maintenance role required
- Strong background in heavy industrial maintenance with a focus on hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience and comfort with machining, welding, electrical, electronics and/or computers
- Proven track record of posessing an excellent attitude, communication skills and the belief that anything can be accomplished
- Fluency in reading blueprint and other schematics
- Strong reading, writing and math skills
- Ability to lift heavy loads
