Manager, Clean Energy Transaction Innovation
Job description
This position will lead a program area within CEBA’s Transaction Acceleration Group (TAG) and contribute to the Clean Energy Buyers Institute’s work to bring new energy customers into the voluntary clean energy movement, enabling greater commercial and industrial (C&I) activation towards a 90% decarbonized grid. This team is focused on solving market barriers currently limiting access to the C&I clean energy market and working with energy customers and other stakeholders to develop targeted solutions that can be demonstrated and deployed at scale.
In addition to leading this program area, the Manager will advise other grant-funded workstreams that are based out of the Clean Energy Buyers Institute and support the cultivation and management of related philanthropic fundraising. The candidate will bring strategic thought leadership, industry expertise, and impactful communication experience.
Core Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and execute a project plan for the industrial program area and ensure deliverables stay on time and budget, effectively managing through uncertainty and delivering against a shared standard of excellence.
- Oversee stakeholder engagement and cultivation, focusing on collaboration and inclusivity while ensuring strong communication.
- Develop, support, and facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to elicit generative solutions and/or stakeholder buy-in.
- Cultivate and empower energy customers to utilize the new practices developed by the team and, working with Marketing & Communications, support amplification “campaigns” to build a knowledge base about the opportunities that exist for impactful procurement processes.
- Provide thought leadership on the relevant clean electricity transaction barriers and sectors that we have sight to, for example: steel and aluminum producers, sub-investment grade companies, small to medium sized businesses, manufacturers, etc.
- Support cultivation and management of philanthropic funders and contribute to the strategic development of the program.

Supervisory responsibilities
- Supervise one or more direct reports and manage relationships with external consultants.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 15+ years’ experience if no higher education or 10+ years’ experience and Bachelors Degree or 7+ years’ experience and Masters Degree
Additional:
- Industry experience is highly preferred in at least one of the following: clean or renewable energy transactions, industrial commodity decarbonization, and clean energy project finance.
- Experience engaging and/or collaborating with corporate, public sector, and NGO stakeholders, including executive leaders, and managing complex interactions fluidly.
- A track record in project management and demonstrated ability to structure, plan, budget and manage projects from small to large with strong attention to detail and consideration of strategic goals, available resources, and a shared standard of excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, anticipate modifications from changing priorities, and provide suggestions on ways to improve processes and solutions.
- Innovative and highly effective problem solver, able to identify, balance and incorporate new information, synthesize trends, think in numbers and communicate solutions or recommendations in a logical and persuasive manner.
- An experienced communicator with the ability to develop impactful resources, deliver compelling presentations and facilitate sessions to support multi-stakeholder dialogue and innovation.
- Supervisory experience preferred and a willingness to provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and colleagues, including the ability to readily accept and provide feedback to/from multiple sources.
- Highly collaborative, strong team player with an ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and drive oneself and others toward meaningful results.

Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Travel may be required, though infrequent
