Job Responsibilities
Establish, develop, and use internal resources in a consultative fashion to find areas of improvement. Initiate and drive projects with all business groups to deploy lean tools and other tools and methods to eliminate waste and improve quality and productivity. Drive value integration by supporting the Koppers value integration system. The position is responsible for, when requested, to collaborate and support with the various operational and support function teams across the organization to drive out waste and build sustainable and measurable value creation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders, communicate support needs and engage these groups in support of project execution
- Develop and capture KPIs, and create and manage process of building and reporting scorecards and dashboards
- Supports development of business cases through collaboration and lean tools such as A3’s
- Take responsibility for project results and the quality of project execution
- Identify key deliverables, conduct end-to-end assessment, and build solutions and processes that allow stakeholders drive improvements and enhance efficiencies
- Continuously improve existing process and help teams design new processes that are robust, effective, and efficient
- Specific expectations include, but are not limited to:
- Apply a variety of principles, systems, and tools toward the sustainable improvement of key performance metrics.
- Develops and supports advanced analytics.
- Expand and enhance performance data availability and integrity.
- Utilize Production Loss Accounting Systems to reduce downtime and improve process predictability.
- Work toward achieving a World Class Maintenance system at each facility.
- Conduct ROI justifications on capital projects and prioritize deployment of capital.
- Develop and train employees to utilize, manage and sustain process improvement tools and systems.
- Perform audits at locations to provide guidance and ensure sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Science or Finance/Accounting; Advanced degree preferred.
- Certifications such as PMP, Change Management, Black Belt or Master Black Belt strongly preferred
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in leadership roles in complex process manufacturing environments.
- Background or experience in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Visual Manufacturing, and other process improvement methodology.
- Experience working with tools like VSM, Kaizen, DMAIC/DMADV, 5S, Kaizen, and A3.
