Job description

The Manager, Grant and Accounting role is responsible for overseeing and managing grant and state funding. He or she will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with funder's administration guidelines, timely receipts of revenue, and accurate submission of financial reports.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor status of grant funds including amount awarded, expended, and remaining balances
  • Assist in development of grant budgets
  • Document and verify expenditures are eligible to be recorded under various grants and communicated to several departments and administration
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements and ensure the grant revenue and expenses are in line with the budget
  • Get involved with grant project optimization to streamline the process
  • Work closely with Principals, RVPs, FP&A, Compliance, and other departments
  • Perform budget variance analysis
  • Provide monthly reporting to various teams regarding grant funding and expenses
  • Manage accounting information needed for grant compliance and audits
  • Prepare schedules for year-end audit
  • Manage and lead audits in multiple states
  • Create ad-hoc reports as needed for management
  • Various Accounting projects

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ Years of Accounting experience OR six (6) years of substantial work experience in the Sponsored Programs, grant and state funding
  • Knowledge of grant funding policies & procedures and applicable Federal & State regulations
  • Experience working with grant funding in multiple states is preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills
