THE ROLE:
The AMD-AECG team is on the lookout for an adaptive, self-motivated Technical Marketing Engineer who is passionate about delivering system level reference design for customers. As a key contributor, you will be part of a leading team that works closely with customers and system architects in defining and developing designs and solving technical issues using AMD AECG technology encompassing FPGA and Adaptive SoC devices.
PERSON:
As a Technical Marketing Engineer, you will drive the definition and development of the system level designs to showcase AMD’s technology to embedded customers. You will work closely with AMD-AECG’s vertical and horizontal organizations, as well as HW & SW Engineering and Architects, to drive technology innovation in IPs, SW, and platforms. You will employ unwavering customer focus, critical thinking capabilities, and excellent communication skills to connect with critically important customers to understand and champion their success.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Possesses in-depth system level understanding of embedded and non-embedded systems.
- Possesses an in-depth understanding of embedded processing systems, operating systems, embedded system debuggers, embedded processing applications and system requirements.
- Technical expertise in Application CPUs, real-time CPUs and microcontrollers, preferably in MicroBlaze and ARM Cortex architectures.
- Experience with Linux, U-boot and bootloaders.
- Good understanding of AMD AECG FPGA architecture and tools flow.
- Desire to be hands on with AMD AECG tools, devices, boards and software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability in writing application notes, white papers & customer presentations.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative team across multiple geographies to creatively solve challenging problems.
- Fully self-sufficient in software development concepts and methods, coding, and debugging.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with engineering, marketing, customers, FAEs and sales to deliver timely solutions.
RESPONSIBILIITES:
- Help define and create customer demos or example designs.
- Help support customers on ARM based processing systems.
- Run industry standard benchmarks and present results to the field and customers.
- Develop and run tests to measure system level bandwidth and latency, using performance tools, for different applications.
- Develop and test systems with Linux and/or RTOS.
- Resolve customer issues on protocols like I2C, UART, USB, SATA, Ethernet, PCIE etc.
- Strong programming skills and understanding of Python and C/C++.
- Document best practices in AMD AECG documentation and Wiki
- Develop training and marketing material for AMD AECG Field people.
- Drive the needs back through engineering to deliver solutions that customers can use.
