JOB SUMMARY:

A Process Engineer, or Manufacturing Process Engineer, designs and implements systems and equipment procedures used in manufacturing facilities. Their main duties include testing and monitoring equipment, updating current system processes and conducting risk assessments.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Testing:

• Provide support for PCBA processes
• Assist Quality department with RMAs
• Conducting tests and monitoring process
• Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing

Monitoring Equipment and Operators:

• Ensure operators adhere to IPC Standards.
• Participate in DFM analysis for new products
• Ensure all production equipment is maintained
• Design and plan equipment layout
• Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations

Updating System Processes:

• Provide technical support for PCBA manufacturing processes
• Provide first article inspection for (FAI) documents for new products.
• Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing

Risk Assessment:

• Review process documentation for accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate operator skill and suggest additional training if necessary.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• An associate degree in an Engineering discipline, bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge base in electronic components.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a process engineer in PCBA manufacturing.
• Experience working for an electronic contract manufacturer is a plus.
• Experience in IPC A-610 and J-STD-001
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively with other functional departments and customers when required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
• Must be computer literate including MS Office.
