THE ROLE

We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to improve and design manufacturing processes to improve safety, optimize machine efficiency, increase productivity, eliminate waste, reduce and/or eliminate job hazards, reduce cost, and exceed internal and external customer quality standards. The HBF Manufacturing Process Engineer identifies areas for improvement, maintains high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designs and implements new processes, and ensures cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards. A top-notch Manufacturing Process Engineer will be a Lean Manufacturing champion, utilizing Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools to make data-driven decisions and incorporates standard work and 5S into everyday job tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflows for each value stream
• Designs, re-designs, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated
• Partners with the manufacturing team on projects related to capacity modeling and improvements to manufacturing work area efficiencies and capital projects
• Analyze manufacturing data and create reports on key metrics
• Works on the manufacturing floor to identify and drive continuous improvements in cycle times, capacity constraints, bottlenecks, efficiencies, costs, etc.
• Develops manufacturing instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and standard work
• Quantifies the operational impacts of strategic projects and initiatives by conducting workflow analyses, value engineering, and operations research
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams in developing project charters, project A3s, resource alignment and quantifying the financial impact of projects.
• Regularly reports the progress, milestones, savings, and other key aspects of active projects.
