What does a Material Handler do?

• Transport packaging, pallets, rolls, finished goods, scrap, and materials within production departments.
• Operate grinding equipment in a safe manner and troubleshoot any issues.
• Perform any internal cleaning required on the grinder.
• Demonstrate the ability to recognize the different materials to ensure that regrind is not mixed or contaminated.
• Properly identify and tag all bags of regrind.
• Complete the appropriate end-of-shift paperwork.
• Operate a forklift or standup lift safely and effectively.
• Assist with breaks for the other production departments as needed.
• Cover absent employees in thermoforming, extrusion, and logistics departments as required for staffing needs.
• Empty all dumpsters and trash cans throughout the facility at the end of the shift and clean up the breakroom for the next shift.
• Remove and bale cardboard at the end of the shift.
• Load silos in partnership with the logistics department.
• Works closely with team members and assists others in interrelated tasks as needed or as assigned.

What requirements must you meet?

• 2+ years of forklift and truck loading experience is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, and overall ability to use technology. ERP experience is appreciated.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Must have attention to detail, a sense of urgency, be self-directed and display strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to communicate and work well with others.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
