Join the hospital trusted by Chicago’s Southland, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in this role as a Supply Chain Tech II in our Central Processing and Distribution department.


Job Summary

The Supply Chain Tech II is responsible for working the Supply Distribution hub and leading the front-line staff in day-to-day operations within our perpetual inventory space. Leads the shift with answering the phones and coordinating the operational coverage. Enters all daily transactions into the Lawson and Hybrent inventory control systems. Responsibilities also include daily departments restocks, along with stocking supplies in the assigned inventory bin locations within CPD. Duties also include interactions with the linen department and mailroom, as well as the receiving department.


Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for working the Supply Distribution hub and leading the front-line staff in day to day operations within our perpetual inventory space.
  • Responsible for restocking supplies in the Kanban bins, isolation carts, crash carts, identifying expired goods, and retrieving rental equipment as needed.
  • Delivers equipment to the nursing units like commodes, walker, infusion pumps, and other patient care items as needed.
  • Fills and delivers linen carts to the entire facility. Enter all linen transactions into the computer.
  • Responsible for making sure that supplies are also stocked appropriately on the nursing units/clean utility room.
  • Receives all items and delivers to all units in the facility.
  • Timely completion of any other duties as assigned in the linen, CPD, receiving courier and mailroom departments


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience and Training: 2-4 years’ experience in the same or closely related position familiar with inventory control, Lawson, or similar applications
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the inventory function in a distribution environment. Computer literacy is also required along with interpersonal skills with all levels of people within the organization.
