We’re currently seeking a talented Materials Coordinator. This is a key role at Over J and will help us organize, coordinate, and analyze needs related to the planning, acquisition, and distribution of materials and equipment. The Materials Coordinator will be housed in the Engineering department, will report to Program Manager, and will work closely with Project Engineers, Associate Engineers, and Project Managers. The Material Coordinator will be a full-time position and is expected to work on-site at our office in Downtown Los Angeles. The position is open until filled, but we are hoping to have our new Materials Coordinator in the saddle by the mid-September.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Materials Coordinator is a collaborative role and will have a variety of duties. Your responsibilities will include:
- Plans, organizes, and directs activities of subordinate staff to ensure competency, appropriate planning, auditing, timely delivery and control of materials, assesses organizational development needs or department personnel and provides training, or access to, as required.
- Develops methods for and coordinates materials procurement activities with the Purchasing Department including the development and technical specifications and requirements, plans and coordinates information exchange between teams.
- Prepares, administers, monitors, and ensures compliance with budget for materials management inventory and department operations, writes reports, contract documents, procedures and memoranda regarding materials, inventory, and cost control issues.
- Manages the development and monitoring of materials management systems, methods, and procedures, coordinates the development and implementation of automated cost, inventory control and physical distribution systems.
- Plans, coordinates, monitors, and supervises physical inventories; evaluates results and reconciles it with automated record systems; accomplishes inventory economies and identify excess for disposal.
- Track and log the use of materials and equipment issued from storerooms and warehouses, track all tool and equipment purchases.
- Develop and maintain an open line of communication between warehouse operations and field staff.
- Performs duties and tasks as assigned.
Superpowers:
We are looking for a super star in the field of management of administrative services. You will need the following skills/abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field a plus, but not required.
- 5+ years of experience planning, developing, implementing, and administering materials management systems.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, organization and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Monday.com desired.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
