POSITION OVERVIEW: Alliance Automation has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor at our rapidly growing business in Van Wert, Ohio for one of our Engineering Groups. The ideal candidate for this role must possess strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, decision-making skills, and the ability to multitask and work with others. A high level of creativity and general business understanding is required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Responsible for department/group concept, design, detail, and release of custom 'one-off' machinery
- Verification and validation of designs using SPC, Gage R&R, FMEA, FEA, and Life cycle testing practices
- Participate in launch meetings, team meetings, and group meetings
- Assist with quoting and concepting
- Responsible for the department/group's ability to design within budget and execute projects within the quoted amount of hours
- Technical troubleshooting for projects from assembly through installation with a strong sense of urgency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Machine Design
- Supervisor and SolidWorks experience a plus
- Ability to interface and develop relationships with direct reports, customers, and vendors in a professional manner
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical theory and principles, statutory codes, OSHA, ANSI, and RIA standards
- General understanding of Controls Engineering and Electrical Engineering functions
- Baseline knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulics
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- High level of technical aptitude
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience
