IMPACT OF THIS ROLE ON THE COMPANY: The Level2 Medical assistant will work closely with providers, nurses, registered dietitians, coaches and enrollment staff to serve as our virtual clinic support staff. The MA will check in and check out patients, assist patients in completing forms, document in the EMR, schedule appointments, and other administrative tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor assigned providers’ schedule, reconcile schedules
  • Check patients in via the electronic medical record: assure Health History Form is completed, complete/update medication list
  • Check patients out: schedule next appointments with provider, RN or RD and document in the EMR
  • Handle referrals and answer patient calls as needed
  • Requesting and releasing of medical records per policy and HIPPA requirements
  • Attend Care Team and other regularly scheduled meetings
Q UALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant or EMT
  • Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA or RMA)
  • Experience with electronic medical record software
  • CPR certification
  • Experience performing medical front office administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referrals.
  • Technologically savvy – Outlook, Teams, EMR, scheduling software
  • Team player attitude, excellent customer service, problem solver and desire to help our patients on their journey to remission

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Telehealth experience
  • Endocrine, diabetes care or primary care experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • This is a telecommuter position with possible travel to Minnesota 1-2 times per year
