  • Assist with triage of patients (taking vitals, documenting the reason for visit, document patient history, allergies) and document all information into EMR system accurately.
  • Catalogs and communicates patient needs to the Provider and/or other clinical and staff personnel.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests; assists Providers with exams; explains treatment procedures and Providers' instructions to patients.
  • Observes patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the Provider, Clinician, Specialist, and/or other clinical personnel.
  • Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions. Collects phlebotomy and other lab specimens; performs basic waived lab tests.
  • Prepares and administers medications; changes dressings applies bandages, removes sutures and other first-aid procedures; uses CPR skills when necessary, all under Provider supervision.
  • Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilizes instruments; practices OSHA safety standards; performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
  • Processes patient phone messages, returning calls and routing them to other team members as appropriate; calls patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
  • Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy. Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology, and follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at the Administrator’s discretion.
  • Assist provider with patient examination, procedures, and treatments.
  • Thoroughly educate and provide explanations of procedures to patients and family members as directed.
  • Perform basic medical procedures and tests under provider supervision (i.e. injections, strep test, flu tests, ear flush, EKG’s, spirometry, splinting fractures, and sprains).
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures in wearing personal protective equipment when performing duties (i.e. gloves, masks, goggles).
  • Draw blood for lab work.
  • Schedule patients for outside imaging studies, lab work, and/or specialist appointments.
  • Contact patients with test results within 24 hours of receiving results.
  • Must work early and late shifts as needed and self-coordinate for any absences.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills in clinical practice; attend required in-service training and continuing education to maintain professional certification.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
