The CCMA Apprenticeship Program is a 12-month program that will provide you with all the skills to be a successful Medical Assistant at Grace Health. No experience needed!


Please note, the Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines are minimum work requirements at Grace Health.

OVERVIEW: The first 12 weeks are spent in the classroom where you will study the CareerStep program. The next 12 weeks will be spent training with a preceptor on the clinical floor. After successful completion of the CareerStep curriculum and clinical floor training, you will take the CCMA exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The last 6 months of the program consists of mentorship – you will be paired with a mentor within your assigned work area. The CCMA Apprenticeship is a competitive and intensive program where expectations are high and there are times that outside studying will be expected.

EXAMPLES OF MEDICAL ASSISTANT DUTIES: (This list is not all inclusive)


  • Obtains accurate patient data
  • Documents in the medical record
  • Prepares exam room and procedure rooms
  • Assists provider during exams and procedure
  • Administers medications, per written order
  • Provides educational materials to patient/family
  • Provides explanation of lab results, diagnostic testing results and provider orders to patient/family
  • Assists with cleaning and stocking of exam rooms and suites
  • Performs CLIA waived testing
  • General office duties, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:


  • COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine
  • Minimum of High school diploma or GED
  • One year of work experience in a medical office setting preferred
