Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking a Medical Billing Coordinator / Scheduler
Responsibilities & Duties:

• Greets patients and visitors in person & by phone
• Manage day-to-day operations of the front desk
• Completes all appointment scheduling
• Files and retrieves all patient records
• Helps provide coverage for lunches at clinic and front desk of the Dottie as needed
• Reviews patient accounts in order to collect all copays, deductibles and co-insurance
• Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
• Collects from families when client is scheduled for discharge and or authorization is lost
• Enter all monthly service fees and add necessary adjustments in order to provide accurate billing to client and or family members (Transitional Housing, Leap and Vocational services
• Completes patient account audits
• Process client refunds
• Train other team member on how to process refunds
• Sends out monthly client statements
• Balances all transactions at the end of the day and turns in daily report to billing manager
• Compares sign in sheets to recorded services daily to ensure that all provided services have been recorded
• Works with billing team to provide updated billing information
• Maintains confidentiality of personal and financial information
• Assist Payment Poster/Self Pay Collector as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years Medical Office & Scheduling Experience
• Ability to keep financial records
• Good organizational skills & multi-tasking abilities a must
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Customer service driven
