This Clinical Financial Services Quality Control Analyst is a quality assurance position within CFS which works under the direction of the Senior Billing Manager. This position is tasked with the responsibility of quality monitoring and determining that appropriate business actions are performed by CFS staff, CFS automated and manual work flows and CFS electronic systems. This individual will be responsible for performing data analysis, trend observations, report development/monitoring, quality review activities with formal outcome reporting for the Department of Clinical Financial Services.

Additionally, this position is responsible for the maintenance and editorial revisions of ECUP’s Claimsmanager (CM) and EPIC edits related to coding, claim logic or other customized billing edits assisting ECUP in business appropriate billing functions.

CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Minimum Education/Experience
Graduation from HS or GED: Medical terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and knowledge of disease processes. One year of coding experience or coding training.
Special Conditions for Continued Employment: In the absence of certification, all candidates must acquire a coding certification within one year of initial date of hire into a position requiring coding certification. Coding Certifications Recognized: AAPC: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or AHIMA: CCSP (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based Services). All certifications and credential maintenance are the responsibility of the individual while employed with the university. Continuing education opportunities are available during your employment.
