We are offering a BONUS if you are hired. We will provide ALL DAY tow passes for any minor children you may have, to utilize the tubing /snowboarding/ski hills while you are working. That’s right! ALL DAY Passes for your kids.
Hours are typically 9:30am-4:30pm on weekends. If we have snow, you would be scheduled during the week of Christmas. You may work as many shifts as you’d like! Occasionally, we have a weekday party that needs to be staffed which is approximately 4 hours between the hours of 9am—3pm.
PLEASE NOTE: Start and end dates are approximate and dependent on the weather, for this season and upcoming winter seasons. This position will remain open until filled.
GENERAL FUNCTION
The First Responder is on duty during the Powers Bluff Park winter sports operations and responds to emergency medical services.
SUPERVISES
Occasionally directs other employees assisting with emergency rescue procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. As necessary, administer emergency action principals for basic first aid procedures.
2. Contact any additional medical services needed.
3. Complete department accident and injury report forms.
4. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner.
B. OTHER JOB DUTIES
1. Inventory and determine needed first aid supplies.
2. Prepare and set up emergency supplies and equipment needed.
3. Other duties as may be assigned.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS
Four years of high school, or an equivalent amount of training and experience is required. Medical First Responder/Basic Life Support Certificate minimum. EMT preferred. Basic everyday living skills are needed, as is the ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public and department support staff. Reading, writing, adding, and subtracting skills are necessary to maintain accurate records and prepare reports. Knowledge of outdoor emergency medical services related to ski hill runs, tube slide runs, and ski trail injuries is required.
Basic equipment used: snowmobile rescue sled, general first aid equipment, and patient lifting devices.
