Salary: $62,000 - $91,000
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible hybrid)
The Member Solutions Manager oversees the collection area within the Member Solutions Department. Key responsibilities include determining the feasibility of recovery on delinquent loans and proceeding with the best actions to minimize loss while increasing net recoveries. This role manages personnel activities for the collection area staff. An ideal candidate can quickly adjust to changing priorities and shifting goals to maximize results enhancing employee or member experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall operations of the Collection Area within the Member Solutions Department
  • Act as a key developer with full accountability for results of the strategic initiatives set for long and short term goals
  • Engineer strategic plans and tactical design to execute collection strategies including contact strategies such as the dialer, 3rd party, and direct
  • Utilize existing or emerging technology to meet and exceed satisfaction goals
  • Conduct performance analysis of department statistics to identify collection strategies for ongoing service
  • Lead team projects focused on complex business initiatives by collaborating with others to meet and exceed corporate goals
  • Conduct counseling sessions with members to discuss complex financial situations and negotiate repayment schedules or other applicable solutions
  • Authorize the recovery of pledged collateral on secured loans, using the most efficient method of disposal in compliance with credit union policy and applicable laws
  • Maintain the parameter settings and controls for automated and PC based software programs utilized by the Collection Department
  • Maintain and update policy or procedures manuals for the collection area
  • Review and recommend new methods or procedures to make daily operations more efficient
  • Monitor overall progress to ensure department goals are met and high-quality member service is maintained
  • Delegate responsibilities to staff and monitor progress
  • Set goals and objectives for team members, and guide staff in developing action plans to achieve operational results
  • Hire, train, coach, appraise, and reward staff, acknowledge staff feedback or concerns
  • Oversee the advancement or disciplinary matters of staff, and recommend termination when necessary
  • Cultivate a strong team by building trust among the team members
  • Interpret and implement management policies, utilizing short-term planning, scheduling, and coordinating for the department
  • Assist the management with developing and implementing long-term and short-term business objectives
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain the department budget in cooperation with management
  • Assist management with regulatory compliance to ensure the credit union is in accordance with applicable laws and government regulations
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events such as conferences, courses, seminars, workshops, and meetings to increase professional knowledge
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in collections
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work evening hours outside of normal business operating hours
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance such as Florida repossession laws and procedures, litigation and judicial procedures, Debtor/Creditor Collection Law, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and Florida statutes pertaining to the collection of consumer debts
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Ability to communicate policies, practices, and procedures for direct reports and other stakeholders to understand
