Serco is seeking a Military Analyst for a NAVSEA major program to develop and maintain Microsoft Office based products needed to manage data for surface ship sustainment operations and support of quick turn-around data calls.
The Military Analyst performs assignments for Navy ship sustainment, including data collection, compilation, and analysis. The Analyst anticipates future requirements and assists in evaluating plans for various projects or program activities to meet requirements, using their personal initiative and intellectual curiosity to find and offer solutions for complex challenges.

The Military Analyst performs assignments for Navy ship sustainment, including data collection, compilation, and analysis. The Analyst anticipates future requirements and assists in evaluating plans for various projects or program activities to meet requirements, using their personal initiative and intellectual curiosity to find and offer solutions for complex challenges.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct analytical studies of navy ship repair and modernization operations and use a rational basis for decision making or resource allocation - Cruiser and Destroyer focus.
- Provide strategic solutions to the government customer, based on analysis of data provided.
- Collect, compile, and provide critical analysis of metrics supporting ship sustainment activities and planning.
- Apply your operational background and academic understanding of analytic theory to assist in solving current and/or future mission needs or to correct problem areas.
- Create/maintain Microsoft Office based products as required.
- Participate in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education, and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An Active DoD Govt Issued Secret Clearance.
- Sponsorship is not available.
- A Bachelor’s degree plus 5 to 7 years directly relevant work experience.
- In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience supporting the Navy.
- Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the Navy Modernization Process.
- Skill with Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Flexible with up to 10% travel.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Professionalism with all members of the Surface Ship community (whether in-person or on-line communications).
- Willingness to learn processes and or ability to make Process Improvements.
