St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Ann Arbor is now accepting applications for a Part-time (under 19 hours/week) Ministry Assistant.

Job Responsibilities
In consultation and collaboration with the Directors of Ministry, the Ministry Assistant takes responsibility for:
- The administration of different evangelization series such as Alpha, Metanoia, The Rescue Project, and similar programs. This includes, but not limited to, setting up registration in Mission Pathways, ordering resources, recruiting & coordinating volunteers, coordinating food and set up, running errands, making name tags, creating small groups, and registering people at the event.
- Coordinating with the Director of Communication to develop promotional materials and a marketing plan for ministry events.
- Help behind the scenes with administrative tasks for evangelization training, parish missions, retreats and parish events.
- Coordinating with the Director of Faith Formation in assisting with registration for religious education, Confirmation, RCIA, and other faith formation related activities/programs.
- Reaching out to potential speakers for future parish missions and events.
- Maintaining the Mission Pathways database.
- Helping to create evaluation surveys after major events.
- Assisting with ongoing communication with participants through GroupMe, texting and email.
- Working with the Directors of Ministry to recruit, train, and support volunteers.

- Good computer skills; well-versed in the use of social media or willing to learn
- Ability to use or learn common platforms for administration and communication, including but not limited to Mission Pathways. Powerpoint, Excel, Google Docs/Sheets, Jot Form, SignUpGenius, Canva
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing; displays emotional intelligence and the ability to listen well and constructively manage sensitive issues/conflict
- Responsive to communication in a timely manner; able to prioritize and multitask
Education/Certification
- Supports the basic principles of parish renewal outlined in Divine Renovation: Bringing your Parish from Maintenance to Mission by Fr. James Mallon
- Needs to pass a background check and show evidence of participation in the DOL “Safe Environment” program for the protection of children and youth
Physical demands
- May have to sit for long periods of time, use hands in repetitive motion tasks, and answer telephone calls; also requires some standing, stooping, and bending and lifting a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Must work on-site as needed; occasional weekend and night work is required.
