Fleet Manager, Mobile Equipment - Canfor Southern Pine

As our Fleet Manager, you will be managing our mobile equipment for all of our operations across the United States. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Capital & Analytics, you will be working collaboratively with operations, finance, and capital to manage the purchasing, inventory and maintenance of the Canfor Southern Pine rolling stock fleet. Our ideal candidate will be based out of Mobile, Alabama (or surrounding areas) or Myrtle Beach (or surrounding areas) and available to travel to our 15 mills across the southeast. For the right candidate, we are flexible in base location (including our South Georgia Mill areas)

The life of the Fleet Manager of Mobile Equipment includes:

• Managing mobile equipment fleet across all CSP operations (approximately $100 million value)
• Leading the procurement of new and used equipment purchases, as well as management of the equipment rebuild program.
• Visiting sites to coach and audit processes
• Managing vendor relations and negotiating with mills and vendors to solve issues that arise
• Coaching and mentoring mobile shop supervisors and mechanics
• Working with vendors to leverage equipment-monitoring programs
• Organizing and promoting relevant training opportunities for our tradespeople and technical staff.
• Organizing and facilitating safety opportunities regarding mobile equipment, such as pedestrian/equipment contact, fire suppression systems, visibility concerns, lifting capacities, etc.

For this role, come equipped with:

• Product knowledge of mobile equipment (CAT, Kalmar, Taylor, John Deere, Letourneau, Wagner, etc.)
• Industrial mobile equipment experience
• A strong background in leadership, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting

In a perfect world, you have prior mobile equipment maintenance experience as well as a past in vendor relationships. For bonus points, you come armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
