Your Role With Us:

The Monitor Technician is a new and vital position to the Salem Health Float Pool. This position will be will part of the team providing 24/7 visual monitoring on Patients through a remote video monitoring room, giving Salem Health the ability to watch many patients requiring 1:1 monitoring at once.

Core Functions:

• Communicate with RN assigned any observed behaviors noted for those patients on remote video monitoring
• Monitors telemetry per Salem Hospital guidelines. Including:
  • Accurately documents rhythms Q 2hrs at minimum
  • Notifies staff of actionable (red or yellow) alarms
  • Maintains ADT on telemetry log and monitor
  • Demonstrates proficiency of telemetry monitoring system
• Document as appropriate communication of behaviors observed for those patients on remote video monitoring
• Maintain continuous cardiac monitoring observation and continuous observation of patients on remote video monitoring

Background/Expertise:

• High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Recent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology preferred.
