Overview
The Mortgage Banker builds a client base through prospecting, community involvement and proactive business development activities. In addition, they originate loans by developing strong referral relationships with realtors, homebuilders and other real estate centers of influence. The Mortgage Banker engages internal business partners to identify, solicit and close cross-selling opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Identify, assist and recommend potential borrowers of mortgage loan products.
- Build relationships with clients to be their trusted advisor; establish clients as referral resources by providing extraordinary service.
- Structure solutions to meet individual client needs as well as maximizing profitability for the Bank.
- Advise potential borrowers concerning advantages and disadvantages of the different financial products offered by the Bank.
- Analyze and interpret financial statements; recommend specific financial loan products which best fit the potential borrowers needs
- Drive new business development through proactive strategies, including Bank promotions and cross selling efforts.
- Achieve production goals as determined by leadership.
- Consult with clients to gain a complete understanding of their Mortgage Loan banking needs.
- Ensure that all loans meet credit requirements for lending quality and compliance as determined by the Bank
- Interact with internal sources and external clients while providing extraordinary service
- Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with other employees, clients, and vendors
- Represent the Bank and Relationship Banking team in a highly professional manner with reliable and predictable attendance
- Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work
- Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Reliable and predictable on-site attendance.
Qualifications
- Proven performer with 2 or more years’ experience in the mortgage-lending.
- Knowledge of real estate finance, lending practices and procedures and the escrow process.
- Working knowledge of loan origination software systems.
- Experience with Encompass and Ellie Mac docs is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with office automation equipment, including phones, computers, scanners and related loan processing/banking software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective communicator, results oriented, demonstrates the ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
- Strong presentation and consultative sales skills.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long term relationships and influence others internally and externally.
- Assigned number by NMLS and approval.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
