Funding for this position is between a minimum of $29.87 and maximum of $32.29 an hour.

Why does the job exist?
This position will manage and oversee the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Belen Office and will report to the MVD Zone A Bureau Chief. This position will enforce New Mexico's Motor Vehicle Code efficiently and securely while delivering quality customer service.
How does it get done?
- Devotes a substantial portion of time assigning and directly supervising the work of at least two (2) permanent/full time employees. Acts upon leave requests, conducts annual performance evaluations and recommends disciplinary actions
- Conducts training of personnel; may interview and recommend selection of applicants
- Provides career coaching through mentoring and arranges for outside training opportunities when possible
- Makes well-informed, effective, and timely decisions and perceives the impact and implications of those decisions
- Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations
- Oversees a large MVD field office
- Completes work orders, conducts interviews, hires, schedules, evaluates, and appropriately disciplines personnel
- Provides oversight and guidance to agents to ensure that customers receive quality customer service. Approves overrides, no fee transactions and voids. Audits the agents transactions and ensures deposits are timely
- Receives training on new processes and procedures and provides training to agents on how to perform specialized transactions necessary to provide quality customer service
- Meets with customers to help resolve motor vehicle issues, performs transactions when necessary and provides community outreach when possible
This position is expected to deliver quality work, collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) management, coworkers and the public in delivering quality transactions with proficiency and a sense of urgency.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, cash management and/or financial management, one (1) year of which must be supervisory. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. High pressure/stress situations. Some travel may be required.
