Castalia Systems, LLC seeks a part-time Network Operations Specialist to plan, implement, and operate network services and systems. Efforts include hardware of on-prem systems and virtual environments, such as configuration and optimization of network hubs, routers, and switches, as well as installing and maintaining network infrastructure device operating system software. This is in support of computer and network exploitation (CNE) division within a large cybersecurity program.

Location: Springfield, VA
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.
- Implement new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
- Install or replace network hubs, routers, and switches, Integrate new systems into existing network architecture.
- Monitor network capacity and performance.
- Patch network vulnerabilities to ensure that information is safeguarded against outside parties.
- Provide feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure.
- Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.
- Support risk management processes and cyber threats and vulnerabilities analysis.
- Provide server administration and systems engineering and set up Virtual Private Networks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or an Engineering field
- Required Certifications: Maintain a current DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification.
- Desired Certifications: CEH, CFR, Cloud+, GICSP or SSCP
- Experience identifying gaps in technical capabilities and in analyzing traffic to identify network devices.
- Experience creating and extracting important information from packet captures and creating collection requirements in support of data acquisition activities.
