THE PLASTEK GROUP is seeking Network / Phone Technician for one of the Company’s Erie, PA Manufacturing Divisions. This facility performs plastic injection molding and component assembly. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to work for a secure, progressive, and technologically advanced company. Entry-level quality inspectors are encouraged to apply as well.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The candidate must be able to analyze network related problems reported by end-users; then resolve the LAN and/or WAN network related issues encountered. They must be able to use Microsoft Office suite for documentation and diagramming. They should be able to provide technical expertise to end-users regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware, and network usage. They will install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot and verify connectivity of a wide range of network/telecommunication hardware using tools such as Fluke network scanners or similar, toners & probes, coax toners, POE testers, etc. plus other software monitoring solutions. They must be able to terminate CAT [5, 6 & 6A)] jacks & panels, 66/110 blocks, using termination tools. They must be able to work at heights up to 60 ft to install and terminate devices. They will also help to assist end users with IP Phones, analog lines, paging, 2-way communication devices, CATV, cameras and cell phones.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Technical Schooling/College (AS Degree) in telecommunications, computer science or information technology
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco CCENT and/or CCNA certification
- Current experience providing network support in a large multi-platform and multi-operating systems environment with a minimum of 3 years networking/telephony experience.
LICENSE: This classification requires the use of a personal vehicle while traveling between company divisions. Must possess a valid (Class C) PA driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
