Summary
The Sales Support Admin position will support the Account management team and Strategic Partner Manager in maintaining relationships with current haulers and exploring new revenue streams for the business. The Sales Support Admin position generates revenue through soliciting and obtaining orders, understanding, and interpreting technical requirements to provide service, providing customers with support with and information, and developing accounts.
- Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends to identify sales opportunities
- Supports the Alpha Sales teams in maintaining relationships with current haulers and exploring new revenue streams for the business.
- Supports the Alpha Sales teams by entering sales and customer information into the data base and sales system.
- Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new account, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations.
- Closes new accounts by answering telephone, and e-mail inquiries and verifying and entering information.
- Maintains communication equipment by troubleshooting, reporting, and tracking problems.
- Maintains and improves quality results by following standards and recommending improved policies and procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.
- Fills in for current inside sales reps during peak times as needed
- Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests regarding sales support functions.
- Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or its equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of industry experience preferred.
- Proficient in working on a PC, and competent in the use of Microsoft Office. Must be proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Customer Service experience of at least 2 years preferred
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
- Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Alpha
- Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
