The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the patient in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan and evaluation of patient status).

Essential Responsibilities:

• Functions independently to perform initial consultation history and physical for all patients

• Formulates treatment plans for nursing staff initially and will make appropriate adjustments as needed

• Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment if necessary

• Supervises and educates the nursing staff on neuropathy injection sites, vitamin blend, and any other duty that may be assigned

• Performs biopsy if necessary to help in diagnosing

• Collaborates closely with the medical director to ensure optimal treatment for all patients

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to aid in making the appropriate referrals

• Assists medical staff with daily patient operations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 3+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a Family Practice facility

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program

• Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure or Physician Assistant Licensure

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification in the specialty area

• Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required by department and facility

• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Background in pain management or ortho preferred but not required.
