Nurse Practitioner
Job description
Veterans Evaluation Services Opportunity - Milwaukee, WI
Type: 1099 - Contract
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE - NO TREATMENT
We are searching for someone who is interested in helping our Veterans through the Compensation & Pension process, so they can receive the disability benefits they deserve. Our network of providers play a key role in helping the Veterans. We are looking for providers who understand the importance of this opportunity and are wanting to make a big difference!
If you or someone you know are interested in helping with this opportunity, please give me, Miranda Toler, a call at (304) 888-9964 or send me an email at tolerm@vesservices.com.
What is VES, and how is it different than working from the VA? VES is contracted under the VA to assist in alleviating the backlog of Compensation and Pension claims, filed by the Veterans. This allows us to lay the groundwork for our Veterans to receive their disability benefits as soon as possible. The bigger our network grows, the more Veterans we are able to help. We have a growing demand across the United States, for MDs, Dos, NPs, and PAs.
Do you have your own office? If not, VES might have other locations and resources available in your community.
Pay:
- Your DBQ submissions act as an invoice. Once we receive these exams completed and they are reviewed, you will receive payment within 30 days.
-Please note: Any additional addendums or clarifications will need to be
submitted before payment is initiated.
- You can opt for electronic fund transfer or paper check.
Job Outline:
- These are one-time, non-treatment exams that are conducted in-person, based on the amount of Veteran disability claims in your area.
- The evaluations are based on the Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs)
provided by the VA and submitted on our safe online portal.
- LOW Risk – Non-treatment opportunity
- We handle all administrative tasks so our providers are able to focus their time and attention on the Veteran.
-We bookmark medical records so you only have to refer to the information that is related to the claim.
- Our scheduling team works to schedule the appointments based on the schedule availability you provide. (We request this at least 2 weeks in advance)
-Normally, 1-3 DBQs will take up a 30-minute time slot; 3-6 will take up 1 hour; 7-9
will take up to 1.5 hours
- This opportunity is a 1099-contract opportunity that allows you to have flexible hours, as we only schedule veterans in the allotted times you’ve provided the scheduling team.
- We provide a 10-hour training that gives you the knowledge and tools you need to complete these exams. Once you’ve completed the training, you will also have access to our “New Provider Liaisons” who can answer additional questions before, during, or after exams.
Essentially, this opportunity is to verbally evaluate the veteran to see the extent of the disability claim the veteran has submitted, in a face-to-face setting, and if it is related to their time in service. The timely and expert examination assures that a Veteran’s claim is heard and dutifully processed by VBA.
This is a great way to honor our Veterans and be sure they get the care and resources they deserve. You can make a huge difference in their lives, while also earning additional income yourself.
Let me know if this opportunity aligns with your values and you have the time and capabilities of helping out veterans.

Our Story
Founded by a Navy Veteran, VES was awarded its first contract by The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in 2008 to perform compensation and pension exams. Our dedication to fulfilling President Lincoln’s promise led to the subsequent award of the largest contract in VA history in 2018. At VES, we are proud to fulfill that promise with 1 out of every 7 employees as a Veteran.
VES was acquired by Maximus in 2021. Maximus, founded in 1975, employs more than 35,000 staff and brings the resources and experience of a multinational corporation in administering government services and programs.
