Position Summary
The role of the Nurse Supervisor reports to the Director of Home Health. This position is responsible for the direct oversight of the nursing team and support staff to ensure quality compassionate care is achieved. This position will spend up to 80% of work time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will be exposed to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
- Provide supervision over the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in the assigned health care setting
- Coordinate and assign work, establish goals and priorities for nursing team and support staff
- Oversee day-to-day operations including assessment of available resources, patient and staff needs
- Collaborate with team to identify, develop, and monitor quality improvement projects
- Implement policies and procedures
- Maintain staffing levels through appropriate scheduling to ensure coverage and adjust based on census
- Participate in administrative call rotation
- Participate in supervisory visits as required by Center for Medicare Services guidelines
- Monitor staff productivity and ensure it meets goal required
- Assist with making home visits, as needed
- Reports non-adherence to unit standards to the unit manager
- Assist with utilization review as needed to keep agency compliant with conditions or participation
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure and Certifications: RN license and CPR, required. Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance, required.
- Experience: Three years of clinical nursing experience in a home care and/or hospice setting, preferred. Previous experience in a supervisory and/or management role, required.
