Summary
The Advanced Brain Center of Dallas is hiring licensed Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist (OT) administers occupational therapy to patients within TBI and MTBI rehabilitation departments. Organize and conduct prescribed occupational therapy programs in an acute and post-acute care inpatient setting to restore function. Ensure patients reach their maximum performance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- You will be an integral part of delivering expected outcomes to help serve individuals with TBI and other neurological diseases.
- Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient's need and physician direction.
- Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
- Ensure design of functional treatment programs allowing for effective return to community activities.
- Provides treatment and education to patients for the expedition of recovery, early discharge, and return to regular life duties.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Certification
- Bachelor/ Masters/ Doctorate/Certificate degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current state Occupational Therapy license.
- Current CBIS and vision, and hand therapy certification is a plus.
- Two (2) years experience as a Occupational Therapist in the hospital setting preferred.
- BLS required at time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to write concise, legible documentation in patient’s medical record. Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures. Rhythm recognition, knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations. Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with other members of the healthcare team to meet patient’s needs. Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, coworkers, employees, supervisors, and other hospital employees.
