Overview
This position is considered remote, up to 1 day in the office at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Officer, Community Fundraising is a key partner in maximizing Community Fundraising Event (CFE) fundraising by renewing and retaining previous CFE event-managers and streamers, and intentionally engaging with new volunteer fundraisers. This role is primarily focused on prospect management, recruitment, and new business development and will carry a portfolio of community fundraising event managers of $5K+, streamers, and special assignments as identified by the Associate Director.
The Officer will play a key role in project management for the program by managing the overall onboarding process and stewardship planning across the team. The Officer will support the growth of new business by collaborating with both the Associate and Assistant Directors on growth opportunities such as marketing and new business generation. In addition, the Officer will support the Jimmy Fund Let’s Game program by managing communications with our growing streaming community through Discord, Twitter, and email. Support of signature Event Fundraising events as needed.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prospect Management
- In collaboration with CFE staff, raise over $3M in revenue and assist program in growing to $5M over the next 3-5 years
- Carry a robust portfolio of community fundraising event managers $5K+, plus certain special circumstances
- Onboard and support portfolio of new Community Fundraising events and renew and retain pool of inactive Community Fundraising donors by renewing event fundraising support or connecting donor to a new opportunity for giving at Dana-Farber
- Intentionally connect with entire pool of CFE donors in meaningful ways that move the relationship forward and further connect the donor to the DFCI mission
Special Projects and New Business Generation
- Design and execute a robust onboarding and stewardship plan for the CFE program. Assess and maintain YOY based on CFE manager engagement
- With the Associate Director, increase new business by researching and adding 1-3 revenue driving innovations to the program each year including but not limited to: an ambassador program, in-kind and monetary sponsorships, and a merchandise program
- Recruit new streamers and digital fundraisers to support the Jimmy Fund through outreach and recruitment events
- Support the Associate Director in the new event inquiry management and tracking process
Digital Fundraising and Streaming
- Provide program support to the Jimmy Fund Let’s Game program by managing all donor communications including Twitter and Discord
- Carry a portfolio of Jimmy Fund Let’s Game streamers and content creators. Steward, retain, and renew these supporters.
- In collaboration with staff across the team, help identify new digital fundraising event ideas and develop resources as needed

Reports to Associate Director (CFE), Event Fundraising.
Qualifications
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required with minimum 3-5 years of experience in community management, event coordination, professional fundraising, or sales.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal skills; strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask; possess the ability to work well with all DFCI Departments and donor constituencies of all levels; manage multiple projects simultaneously; and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Aptitude and willingness to conduct one-on-one donor visits and solicitations. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Remote work flexibility (up to one day in the office each week). Travel and attendance at events during and evening and weekends will be expected/ required. Some light lifting for set-up also required.
