Position Description

The Operational Excellence Specialist facilitates process and performance improvement activities throughout the AU Health Enterprise. This role facilitates performance improvement projects that have been assigned by Operational Excellence management. These projects may focus on improvement in clinical outcomes, patient safety, cost reduction and efficiency, revenue cycle, clinical utilization and management, integrated growth and performance management, and patient/customer experience. Additionally, these projects may be focused on implementation of new and innovative ways to conduct business and processes.

Position Requirements

Bachelors degree in Public Health, Business, Nursing or similar with 2 years or more of experience in a healthcare or business setting with a focus on process and performance improvement and/or project management. Knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma and other continuous process and performance methodologies. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher certification from an accredited organization within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Requirements

Masters degree in Public Health, Business, Nursing or similar with 4 years or more of experience in a healthcare or business setting with a focus on process and performance improvement and/or project management. Previous experience working in an Operational Excellence (OpEx), Performance Improvement, Quality, or related department in a health care setting. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from an accredited organization.
