Job Summary

The Operations Administrator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the program and operation systems of designated sites managed by Homeward Bound.

Compliance with licensing

  • Knowledge and understanding of the federal, state, and county rules and regulations under which each site is licensed.
  • On site monitoring, training, and implementing of practice and compliance with the rules and regulations.

Compliance with HBI policy, standards and procedures

  • Knowledge and understanding of HBI policy, standards and procedures.
  • On site monitoring, training and implementing of policy, standards and procedures.

Delivery of quality services.

  • Assuring services identified in the IPP are effectively delivered by competent, qualified staff.
  • Assuring allocated resources are used appropriately and within identified parameters.
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating the changes needed to continuously improve the services provided.

Leadership

  • Role model professional behavior consistent with HBI professional behavior standard, policy and procedure.
  • Advocate for the people served by HBI.
  • Advocate for the HBI employee.
  • Facilitate conflicts to resolution.
  • Provide support, direction and recognition of employees.
  • Encourage personal growth, team development and cohesiveness.
  • Recognize limitations of self and team.
  • Provide and/or direct service area training.

Communication

  • Stakeholder accountability-assessable, available, responsive and accountable. (individuals, families, guardians, staff external supports)
  • Establish effective, responsive and generalized communication systems which contribute to the continuity of the services and supports.
  • Conduct random formal and informal information gathering activities to assess the satisfaction of stakeholders and service quality.

Budget management

  • Monitor current program expenditures.
  • Monitor current capital and supply costs.
  • Account for budget variances in assigned service area.
  • Provide cost information on proposals.
  • Assists in the development of house budgets for next year.
  • Manage external purchased services, fees and contracts.

Human resource supervision and management

  • Create and maintain environments that attract and retain employees.
  • Mentor and develop employees you directly supervise.
  • Conduct timely performance appraisal and reviews.
  • Assure the adequacy of qualified trained staff to deliver quality services
  • Monitor and manage:
  • Hiring, evaluation and termination of employees.
  • Assure nutritious, good tasting meals are served.
  • Assure purchasing, food handling and preparation is consistent with HBI standards, policy and procedure.

Health

  • Assure resources to deliver quality health care consistent with HBI standards, policy and procedures.
  • Monitor infection control.

Individual Program planning

  • Monitor and ensure the delivery of quality program planning and development consistent with HBI standards, policy and procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure the delivery of personal assistance consistent with HBI standards, policy and procedures.

Environment and property management

  • Assure the systems and standards promote a safe and secure environment.
  • Assure the environmental conditions are consistent with HBI standards in that the environments are safe, clean, free of hazards with appropriately functioning and maintained equipment.

Other Expectations

  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested and necessary to maintain program/operation integrity.
  • Attend all training required.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience providing direct support to people with developmental disabilities in a residential setting required.
  • Three years supervisory experience required.
  • Four year degree in an area of study related to health & human services preferred.
  • Valid Minnesota drivers license and the ability to drive Homeward Bound vehicles per HBI qualifications.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to pass the criminal back ground screening and maintains clearance.
  • Ability to meet acceptable attendance standards.
  • Ability to pass Homeward Bound Medication Administration Program and maintain the ability to pass medication.
  • Current CPR/First Aid
  • Receive and attend training as directed by your supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
