Job description
The Operations Manager supervises and coordinates personnel and equipment and is engaged in all yard activities and pipe services operations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned)
- Responsible for planning, organizing and running day-to-day operations confirming that all employees are strictly following API, customer and company guidelines.
- Set expectations for all employees to the total commitment to all plant and yard safety procedures. Confirm that proper PP&E is worn and safety meetings are attended by all employees.
- Maximize production output while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Verify that all reports and pipe movements have been processed properly and turned in within the proper time-frame.
- Works cohesively with corporate office and reviews all billing to ensure all invoices are correct and sent out in a timely manner.
- Understands and reviews monthly financial statements and work with Sr. management to prepare annual budgets.
- Coordinate with other terminals on cross utilization of equipment.
- Recommends and implements measures to improve operational methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.
- Possess the ability to communicate with customers on a daily basis pertaining to jobs in process inspection results as well as answering technical questions.
- Makes recommendations to upper management in regards to the decision making process for new or used equipment purchases
- Coordinate with customer representatives and sales staff on matters pertaining to pricing and availability for potential projects. Reviews Rate quotes to ensure they are in line with the current market rates
- Orders and reviews hours for all temporary workforce employees.
- Communicate with operations staff about job scheduling and deadlines.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and always in good working order also confirm that all preventative maintenance is performed routinely.
- Oversee that all employee certifications and equipment calibrations are current.
- Manage all service failures that may arise with the corrective actions necessary to resolve the issue and prevent any future occurrence.
- Make sure that the facility is free of trash, weeds and roads are maintained.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 1 to 30 employees. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Two year college or trade school certificate; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Oilfield experience required. OCTG experience preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Pipe Vault Inventory software; TMW Trucking Software, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing and Microsoft Outlook software.
