Optometric Technician/ Receptionist
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00am to 5:30pm, Friday: 6:30 am to 2:30pm

The receptionist serves as the first point of contact greeting all patients presenting at the clinic or calling in. The clinic receptionist creates a welcoming and well-organized front office to facilitate patient flow through the clinic. Responsibilities include: Answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, verifying patient insurance, patient intake and checkout, collecting co-pays and balances due, managing incoming and outgoing email and fax mail, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills and the ability to work as a member of a team. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented with a solution focused approach, and is familiar with a health care setting, or is eager to learn the position.
Candidate will be expected to room patients, perform pretesting, acquire case history, and work with doctors as needed for additional testing. Verify eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions, data entry in Office Mate/Exam Writer software, clean and prepare exam rooms and equipment, and assist other staff members to maintain patient flow and schedule. We are seeking a full-time (32-34 hrs/week, 4 day shifts) optometric technician/receptionist .
The position requires a self- motivated person who enjoys providing quality patient care. We are a growing optometric practice and need a candidate with a cheerful disposition and the motivation to work hard and learn new things. Reliability, ability to multi-task, and a caring attitude toward our patients are a must. We enjoy our work and are seeking someone who will enjoy their work as well and continue to make our office a fun and dynamic place. A team oriented attitude and excitement for learning new skills will be a great asset. Priority will be given to candidates with some healthcare office experience, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate. Experience with medical reception, medical assisting, or nursing assistance is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Excellent opportunity for someone with interest in joining the healthcare workforce. We are a small office and cross training with different positions, learning additional skills, and job variety are part of the culture of our practice.
Compensation: $16.00+/ hour depending on experience with opportunity for increase based on performance.
Job Type: 32-34 hour per week position, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 to 5:30, Friday 6:30 to 2:30. Wednesdays off after training period. Closed evenings and weekends.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our patients and create a collaborative environment for our staff. Newberg Vision Clinic is a two-doctor practice with a husband and wife team. Dr. Jeremy Taylor and Dr. Paula Taylor both graduated from Pacific University and have been practicing for 18 years.
