Planned Parenthood Arizona seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Organizing Manager committed to racial equity and social justice. The Organizing Manager is responsible for the development and oversight of robust organizing and volunteer programming that both:
1) builds and stewards an inclusive pipeline of support and
2) build and leverages community-led power across the state.
This position will work closely with members of the External Affairs division on program implementation, planning, and execution. Planned Parenthood Arizona seeks to integrate equitable and scalable organizing practices across the state to implement campaigns to protect and expand reproductive health care and other racism-related issues affecting Planned Parenthood patients and supporters. The Organizing Manager will invest deeply in developing and implementing issue campaigns, people power building and broadening coalition partners. Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate; and Planned Parenthood Arizona works with partner organizations to improve the sexual health and well-being of individuals and families everywhere.

Your Day Looks Like:

    • Recruit, train, manage and coach organizers and volunteers to refine strategic campaigns, recruitment strategies and leadership development strategies and opportunities.
    • In collaboration with the Chief Equity and Organizational Culture Officer and the Chief External Affairs Officer, develop long-range strategic organizing plans which promote access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care and education, while centering, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), through voter registration, coalition building, and the development of statewide grass tops/grassroots/and concrete root networks.
    • Displays awareness/understanding of the various ways racism can show up in the workplace (and in healthcare).
    • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate across differences, as well as hear and act on feedback related to identity and equity with an openness to learn.
    • A strong track record of winning concrete campaign victories, mobilizing large numbers of people into action, power analysis, campaign development, and building community leadership.
    • High Creativity and facility with taking strategic action. Capable of thriving in a dynamic, goal-oriented, fast-paced, campaign-oriented environment. Ability to work remotely/hybrid and be productively self- directed and personally organized.
    • Contribute to elevating PPAZ’s organizing work in the media through earned media, digital posts and Spanish-language media opportunities.

Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

What We are Looking For:

    • High Creativity and facility with taking strategic action. Capable of thriving in a dynamic, goal-oriented, fast-paced, campaign-oriented environment. Ability to work remotely/hybrid and be productively self- directed and personally organized.
    • 4-6 years of political or issue-based campaign experience with at least one cycle of electoral organizing .
    • Metrics-driven approach to planning, evaluating, and reporting on progress.
    • Experience with VAN/ Every Action Network.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with campaigns in diverse communities preferred.
    • Understanding of health care access issues facing communities, especially communities most impacted by systemic racism.
    • Demonstrate organizational leadership that is strategic, and solution and results oriented.
    • Deep understanding of social justice, including oppression and racism, and how these concepts impact people’s ability to access sexual and reproductive health care.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is ideal with excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
    • Must have ability to keep records, maintain an active schedule without difficulty, and write clearly and coherently in English. Satisfactory computer skills in word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Office software desirable.
