POSITION DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Overnight Ambassador
DEPARTMENT: Front Office
REPORTS TO: Overnight Hotel Manager
Overnight Ambassador
Summary
The Overnight Ambassador will collaborate with the Overnight Manager to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests are our main priority. Therefore, this person should be dependable, have a willingness to serve, and consistently be able to demonstrate hotel service standards.
The role will contribute during times of excitement or uncertainty by demonstrating a calm and professional demeanor while eliminating threats.
Essential Functions
Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:
- Reconcile all hotel cashier transactions, such as mini bar charges, valet charges, and 3rd party billing.
- Review remaining arrivals and process any No-Shows.
- Run End of Day processing.
- Review and compile accounting reports on a timely basis after 3:00AM.
- Ensure the accuracy of guest billings and ledger transactions.
- Email all departing guests a copy of their folios.
- Effectively communicate concerns or related issues to management.
- Perform guest services functions as required (i.e. check guests in/out, take reservations, wake-up calls, etc.)
- Handle guest requests and ensure overall guest satisfaction in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Restock Front Desk Inventory and communicate any low supply.
- Maintain cleanliness and 5-star appearance of the lobby and front drive.
- Responds to any safety and security issues, concerns, or disasters in accordance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Patrol the interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
- Promote safe work policies and practices.
- Initiates preliminary investigations into incidents, as needed.
- Writes reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation, as needed.
- Opens every door for all guests entering or leaving the hotel.
- Upon arrival, provides a proper introduction to the hotel, explaining the parking and vehicle request information, as well as the House Car Program to the guest
- Parks and retrieves vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
- Performs daily audits of parked vehicles while maintaining the security of the parking lot.
- Completes daily inventory of car keys in valet closet.
- Utilizes work order system, “ALICE,” to receive tasks and log work
- Assist In Room Dining with collecting breakfast tags, taking orders, delivering food, etc.
- Prepare morning Coffee, open Gym, and display newspapers throughout the hotel.
- Place all outside cushions on patio furniture
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- One-year hotel/hospitality experience.
- One to two years customer service experience.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must be able to quickly adapt to effectively using new software products.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in the event of an emergency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Consistent, professional attitude with exceptional guest recovery skills.
- Ability to work and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work overtime, evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays based on business demands.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 8 hours a day.
- Ability to coordinate the movement of arms, legs, and torso together when the whole body is in motion.
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without experiencing undo fatigue.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body, arms, and/or legs.
- Manual dexterity in on hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
- Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- May work in night conditions.
- Frequent bending, climbing, stooping and repetitive motions.
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 100 pounds.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
