Welcome to Wright's Dairy Farm and Bakery where producing quality dairy and bakery products is our family tradition. Located in Northern RI we are a real working dairy farm that has been selling fresh milk direct to the public since 1914.
Position Summary: The Dishwasher is responsible for the day-to-day operations of properly cleaning, sanitizing and storage of all dishes and equipment. All procedures and actions are to be completed in accordance with safe food handling practices and Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery standard operating procedures. The dishwasher is expected to foster a positive work environment and carry out the core values of Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Wash all dishes, small wares, measures, bowls, utensils, white food barrels etc. in hot soapy water, manually rinse and sanitize for at least one minute in 3 bay sinks and dry items completely before placing them in storage areas.
- Test sanitizing solution for proper ppm using test strips and color coded chart provided. Record test results and initial on provided weekly checklist.
- Wash all pails, mixing bowls, mixer attachments, milk cans and sheet trays from the bakery and store in the dishwasher. Wipe all pails dry inside and out before stacking. All other items air dry before putting away.
- Trash is emptied throughout the day as needed, as well as at the end of the shift. The empty barrel is lined with a new trash bag each time.
- End of shift duties also include running the floor mats, soiled trash barrels through the dishwasher after all dishes have been washed, breaking down the dishwasher by first turning the power switch off and turning the drain handle up to drain.
- Pre-rinse the interior of the dishwasher, spray degreaser using the pump sprayer. Remove all debris, water and grease lines by scrubbing with green pads and brushes. Rinse well and reassemble. Scrub the front and sides of the machine with hot, soapy water, rinse and towel dry the entire exterior.
- Wash and sanitize stainless steel work table top, bottom and legs.
- Wash using degreaser and sanitize hand sink and 3 bay sinks. Scrub with a green pad and rinse all surfaces including faucets, spouts and spray nozzles.
- Clean under all tables and scrub the floor under the sink. Squeegee, then rinse with hose, then squeegee again. Clean debris from floor drain. Wash floor drain lid and straining basket with a brush and floor soap.
- In addition, these duties are completed on the day shift when there is little to wash or the dishwasher is in a cycle: wash floor mats, use thermal-label strips to test dishwasher rinse cycle, place results on weekly sanitation log, write date & initial.
- On the PM shift, wash oven racks, trash barrels, wash floor mats as the last run of the dishwasher for the day and return them to the appropriate work area.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- High school diploma, GED, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals and visual ability to match color.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee is occasionally required to work while standing for 8-10 hours per shift, occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 50 pounds alone and up to 125 pounds with a partner. Move, roll or transfer dollies, bins, and racks on wheels up to 200 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus.
The work involves considerable exposure to different elements such as extreme temperatures, fumes, smoke, airborne food particles (flours, sugars) in a fast-paced environment with people working in close proximity.
