Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Patent Illustrator to join its St. Louis office. The Patent Illustrator prepares detailed drawings for submittal with patent applications in both the United States and abroad. This position closely works with attorneys and clients to prepare these drawings.

  • Prepares and revises patent drawings (using CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Visio), based on guidelines received from attorneys and/or clients
  • Coordinates and maintains database of all patent drawings submitted with patent applications
  • Contacts outside contractors as necessary or as requested to prepare patent drawings
  • Takes photographs of prototypes
  • Reviews and submits for approval invoices from outside contractors

Required Education:
High school diploma

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Patent Illustration or Graphic Arts

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A

Required Experience: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, MS Office, Visio and Outlook


Preferred Experience:
Experience in a professional firm. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, SOLIDWORKS.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
