Job Description:
The Patient Care Attendant works under the direct supervision of the RN/LPN and will be expected toassist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), help with meal time/hydration, keep resident roomsand center clean and organized and complete related tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Provides care as directed by the RN/LPN to Patient requiring long-term, rehabilitative care.
- Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the patients.
- Pass Meal Trays/Open cartons & packets
- Check Resident Temps
- Transfer the Resident to a Wheelchair using a Gait Belt
- Oral Care/Denture Care (alert residents)
- Provides services that support the care delivered to the Patients.
- Pass Fresh Ice Water
- Assist the Resident with Getting Dressed
- Assist the Resident to Bathroom or to use a Urinal (1 Person Assist)
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Training must consist of five (5) hours of classroom teaching and three (3) hours of supervised simulation in which the PCA candidate exhibits competency in all areas of training.
- 3 days On the Floor Training
