NMC is currently recruiting for per diem Patient Care Technicians in our Progressive Care Unit. This position is per diem (variable hours). Generally scheduled for 12 hour shifts 7a-7p or 7p-7a.

• JOB SUMMARY:
  • The Patient Care Technician (PCT) functions as a member of the patient care team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and is responsible for giving and documenting direct patient care, assisting patients to complete activities of daily living (ADL’s), maintaining mobility and assuring safety.
• PREREQUISITES
  • Education: HS Diploma/GED required. Currently enrolled in Nursing Program and have completed first semester.
  • Experience: 2-3 years healthcare experience preferred.
  • Skills/Other: BLS required. Ability to read and interpret documentation in patient record, safety rules and procedure documents. Ability to document patient care in the patient record. Ability to communicate cooperatively, clearly and effectively with patients, family members, employees and others. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing demands. Ability to listen well, take direction and engage in interactive dialogues with others. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
