About Our Job
At the time of this posting, the City and County of Denver requires all employees to be present in the office at least three days per week. CASR has limited seating and thus has received an exemption; CASR employees are required to be present in the office two days per week.

The Finance and Administration Division handles day-to-day office operations; develops, administers, and oversees contracts with vendors and technical consultants; and manages annual budgets as well as grants and projects. The Executive Director and all CASR divisions coordinate with regional and state stakeholders to ensure consistency and scale for various climate mitigation and adaptation strategies, and oversee updates to and implementation of Denver’s Executive Order 123.
The Finance and Administration Division has an opening for a Payment and Purchasing Technician. This position will provide financial support for CASR funds, working with dynamic teams and delivering the highest level of customer service to our internal clients. This includes financial record keeping, procurement/payables support, and processing financial transactions. The work will be fluid, dynamic, and require the highest level of customer service to our internal clients.

Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Support CASR agency in the procurement and payment for goods and service
  • Ensure client agencies and suppliers receive excellent customer service
  • Perform specialized clerical and technical level accounting activities requiring a detailed knowledge of CASR funding
  • Reconciles account balances, ledgers, and supplier statements. Performs analysis to identify problems with reconciliation and makes corrections
  • Prepares reports that define financial information. Research variances to determine possible causes and recommends corrective actions
  • Help the team find ways to improve the organization of the workplace, reduce waste, increase safety and quality, enable continuous improvement and make problems more visible to be able to create solutions
  • Improve existing policies and procedures, and create new ones when needed
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships, based on trust and collaboration, with agency personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Accounts Payable experience
  • Basic bookkeeping experience

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience performing financial recordkeeping, reconciliation of accounting discrepancies, and making journal and ledger entries.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: None
