Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing each employee’s withholdings, deductions, and payments.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Calculates and ensures accurate withholdings for all employees across multiple state and city lines
  • Tracks and enters all new hires into the payroll system and ensure accurate pay, and manages and updates changes to all existing employee payroll files
  • Prepares semi-monthly payrolls, including entering and recalculating time
  • Prepares special payrolls annually for every employee to include bonuses and payroll increases
  • Processes and presents the quarterly statistic report for the State of Missouri
  • Manages the Firm’s Long Term Disability payments and adjustments
  • Oversees daily cash sheet for the Executive Committee showing all sources and uses
  • Manages Firm’s petty cash account and ensures deposits and balances are accurate daily
  • Prepares funding files for both employees’ and partners’ 401(k) and pension contributions
  • Manages corporate and breakeven reports each month and presents finds to the Chief Accountant

  • Required Experience: 5 years’ experience in general accounting with significant tax and benefit plans experience
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience with partnerships and payroll
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
  • Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
  • Travel Required: N/A
